Founded in 1987, WTI Transport calls Tuscaloosa, Alabama home. Located 55 miles southwest of Birmingham, Tuscaloosa is a vibrant city and a home to many of the nation's leading manufacturing concerns. Tuscaloosa has deep roots in Native American history and boasts some of the richest natural resources in the Southeast. Bordering the Black Warrior River is the University of Alabama. In becoming a center for commerce, Tuscaloosa has maintained a sense of community and prides itself in educational and cultural opportunities.
This was a perfect location to start a flatbed trucking company. Tuscaloosa is home to many of the nations leading manufacturing concerns and is close enough to serve the thriving iron and steel industry located in Birmingham. On top of that, it is a great community in which to raise a family, says Steven Rumsey company founder and C.E.O. Dedicated to top flight service and professionalism, WTI Transport has seen its commitment pay off. Growing from a small forth-truck operation in the eighties to over 250 power units today, WTI has thrived much like the city it calls home.
